Dear Brit

Dear Brit,

Just wanted to let you know that I bought your first birthday gift this weekend.  Yes, I realize your birthday isn't until 2 months from now, but I just loved it.

BF and I talked about it on Saturday and we are excited to customize it for you.

But my favorite part is that it is sitting on top of my dresser and I see it all the time.  It is a little reminder of you.  And the thought that it will sit on your dresser someday soon makes me smile.

We love you so much!

My daughter and I do that. We buy her daughter's gifts way before the time to give them. We touch them and look at them sitting amongst our stuff thinking that one day she will be holding them or wearing them, too. I hope that doesn't sound pathetic. It just helps bring her closer to us in our minds.

UGH! I have the biggest love/hate relationship with your blog! I love it because of your honesty but I hate it because it makes my heart so sad. I wish you could attend her birthday and watch her eyes light up when she sees the beautiful outfit. I wish her adoptive parents didn't see you as a threat!

I'm going to pray that they come around. Maybe things will change this year...as an adoptive mom, I feel as if those who push the birth family away are truly dealing with their own insecurities. They need validation as her parents and I hope they find that.

The greatest blessing besides our son, is his birth family. I love them dearly, so much so, we are now his birth mom's foster parents.

Anyways, I hope they come around!!!

Lisa, hope you haven't stopped blogging and I hope you're doing all right. Seems weird that you haven't blogged for almost a month. Hoping nothing's happened in your life that's keeping you unable to blog.
