A visit is scheduled!

We have received word that Brit and her family will head to our house this Sunday for a visit!

Our visit last year.
We are all beside ourselves with excitement.  The boys are so overjoyed.  My two have both prayed every night for the past year that Brit's parents would allow them to see their sister and they finally feel like they are getting an answer to that prayer with this visit.

I am sure that Brit's parents are extremely anxious about how this will go.  I know that it is making me nervous just thinking about it.  The expectations are so high for me.  This visit represents an entire year of yearning for this moment.

BF and Brit checking out the backyard.
I want to be able to take in everything about her.  I can't wait to hear her voice.  To see her run.  To watch her play.  To hold her (if she lets us).

There is so much to take in.  And such a short amount of time.

And knowing that history has shown that we won't likely see her again for another year, to know that these two hours are the only in person memories we will have to get us through another year...

Maybe this will help change things a little bit.  Maybe her parents will see that allowing her to interact with us is not scary, but nice.

Please pray hard for this visit.  As my dear friend Michelle prayed last week before her visit with her daughter (whom she had not seen since she was 7 months old), pray that everyone gets what they need from this visit.

God knows what the very best outcome would be from this time together.  He has the ultimate foresight and understanding.

WOW WOW WOW! Beyond excited for you and praying that it goes well. To have that short time and not spend it focused on the end of the visit is going to be hard.
What a wonderful answer to prayers. Will be keeping the visit in prayer through the weekend.

We only had 3 hours with our daughters birthmom last year and had we known that was going to be it we would have spent much more time with her.

I'm so excited for you and for your family!!! :o)

I'll be praying that they will see how positive this can be and want to have it occur more than once a year.

Can you tell them when you see her how much it would mean to see her more often? Tell them how much it means to you and how hard it's been not to see her. Maybe you could find some information supporting how you feel to give to them to read after they are back home? Open adoptions are most often really good for the child especially to know the whole birth family.

Maybe you can find out what they are thinking by keeping visits to once a year? I pray so hard there's more, at least twice, three times even four times a year. That would be awesome.

I'm so happy for you. Enjoy every moment. Post pictures for us to see. :o)

Reading this brought tears of joy to my eyes. I know how you and your boys have prayed for this to happen, and now it's happening! I'm SO excited for you guys! Hold on to the excitement and the joy beforehand and try not to concentrate too much on your nervousness. There will be LOTS of prayers sent up that this visit will go wonderfully and that it will be the first of many. So you don't need to worry about a thing. God has the whole situation in His very capable hands. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

That is such great news! I hope it is a wonderful visit!

I also hope it really happens. My (adopted) daughter cried just two weeks ago when her maternal grandmother whom we just met in January (she canceled in December too) canceled a visit. I was so sad. So maybe prepare all of Brit's brothers that something could come up and they won't make it over. I hope not but I am feel stressed because of what is happening in our family right now.

I will pray that Brit's family will be healthy and happy and able to be there and that everyone has a great visit.
